Desire to migrate outside the United States has tripled among young women in the last decade, and risen with older women as well. Meanwhile 450,000 women have left the labor market since January 2025, with the steepest decline among young mothers.
No other country surveyed showed as large a gender gap in answering this question, and it’s the largest gender gap in history, though there is little difference in the response rate between married and single women.
The survey also shows a strong partisan gap in responses.
The bottom line is, math doesn’t care why, or if we agree with the why.
