Economic developers have been hearing from prospects and consultants for some time that everybody wants to hear the workforce STORY.  These days, telling the story to educators and prospective employees/students is every bit as important as telling it to corporate prospects.

New Mexico’s Department of Public Education, through Careers2Communities, is directly soliciting career stories from volunteers spanning a range of occupations and life stages to inspire students and inform curriculum development.

What I love about this is the use of crowd-sourcing to provide variety, authenticity, and engagement.  The resulting library of video interviews has endless possibilities, and the more people with skin in the game the better.

Thanks to Kristen Gamboa of Los Lunas for her LinkedIn Post that tipped me off to this program.  Check out www.careers2communities.com or go directly to the stories here: https://www.careers2communities.com/community-connection/all/
