A couple of months ago Corey Murphy from the New Castle/Henry County EDC posted about two students and a graduate of the Henry County REMC Machine Trades class who made a personal presentation to the EDC Board of Directors meeting. (wow, that’s a long sentence).
Anyway, please do more of this kind of thing. Let the people directly involved or impacted by your programs speak for themselves to the people in a position to fund and to popularize them.
Whether it’s in workforce development, housing, transportation, childcare, or more, individual personal stories bring data to life. It’s especially important when the life circumstances of the people the programs serve can be so different from the circumstances of the people making decisions (and assumptions).
