The Michigan Central Talent Innovation Training Fund is a great example of philanthropy partnering with economic development to provide direct funding to companies facing common workforce challenges. In this case, the Fund has just concluded its Year Two submission period, soliciting applications from early stage and high growth startups in Southeastern Michigan. Companies selected will benefit from up to $10,000 in training capital per new hire, plus operational support in hiring, conceptualizing, and delivering the training. The grant funding is underwritten by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, established from the proceeds of the sale of the Buffalo Bills.
