First a blog, now a YouTube video – see my On The Map tutorial.

I had a pretty busy week.  After working my way through WordPress to get this blog set up, I turned to Camtasia, a screencasting software, to experiment with creating an audio tutorial for the Census Bureau’s ON THE MAP service.  I have referenced this program frequently in my workshops as a good, free, first step in having documentation to validate where your workforce is going to and coming from.  For those of you unfamiliar with it and how to use it, this video is a quick 12-minutes, and I walk you through using the service to get information on some of the most typical queries you may have.  You can see my screen throughout (great for me too, because I’m not ready to see my face looking back at me from YouTube yet!)  Right now it is not public, but here is the direct link.
